Stix & Stones Yarn Boutique

Was founded by Rae Brenne in 2009, and has been in operation for over 15 years in Downtown, North Bay, ON.

Stix and Stones is a full service yarn shop, that specializes in quality, natural fibres and blends, from Canadian based suppliers, including our own, brand of hand dyed yarns, Stix Yarn & Fibre, hand dyed right here in the shop. We offer weekly classes for knitting & crocheting, as well as specialty classes and workshops throughout the year, in our spacious studio, attached to the shop.

What do I recommend about this store and Rae? Everything!! The hand dyed super bulky wool is spectacular and Rae’s willingness to answer tons of questions, send photos of yarn and quick shipping are incredible.

Highly recommend Stix & Stones for all your needle crafting needs! I sent them a message asking if she could put together a needle felting kit for me for making pumpkins and gourds. I wanted a kit for three people for my Mom, my sister, and I to make these together Thanksgiving weekend. She put together an absolutely wonderful kit for me with instructions, pictures, and plenty of supplies. All this with less than two days notice and for a price I was happy with! Everyone is super helpful between the staff and just local knitters who stop in to shop or sit and knit. Don’t get me started on the yarn collections. I have a hard time not going in and buying two of everything. They are high quality and fairly priced yarns. The colour options and variety of weights. It’s one stop shop for all knitting/crocheting needs ❤️
