Georgian Bay colours are inspired by nature in the Georgian Bay region of Ontario. The names reflect the inspiration for each colour, and I dye these colours on the most beloved Georgian Bay Fibre Co. Bases- treated and untreated BFL, in a variety of yarn weights.
Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) is a type of sheep that produces a slightly more rustic wool than merino, which lends itself well to garments because it has incredible stitch definition. It it soft and warm, but holds its shape better than any other fibre. It is less prone to pilling, and when properly cared for, will last a lifetime.
